Jennifer Marie Forchelli is a photojournalist, writer, spirit guru, and an artist who is the owner and founder of JMF Studios.
Jennifer started her journey in telling stories at the age of 10 when she began her jaunt in creative writing. However, written stories weren't enough. She wanted to tell real stories and capture the truth of life as it was passing her by. She wanted to document her life memories in a visual and creative way. Immediately Jennifer took to the camera.
From 1999 - 2003 Jennifer attended Elon University in North Carolina. She was there to study Music Theatre, but on her spare time she was really documenting a behind the scenes look of her amazingly talented and funny group of friends. Through photography and video, she was obsessed and thrilled with capturing the excitement of the college life, authentically through the eyes of performers and artists finding their way. This was her training in photojournalism and documentation.
In 2004 Jennifer moved to that good old city that never sleeps, NYC and continued to be the story teller of her friends. A good friend of Jennifer's taught her how to use the ISO on her digital camera. This one trick catapulted Jennifer's passion of documentation past the point of hobby land.
Jennifer learned the ropes through various internships which only made her gifts stronger. In April 2010 she worked as a photojournalist for BroadwayWorld.com where she shot red carpet premieres and Broadway events and merged her passion for Theatre and Photojournalism. Then in November of that same year, she worked for Brooklyn Bread a free food publication where her work was published.
All of this new knowledge ignited Jennifer's entrepreneurial spirit and in 2011, Jennifer launched JMF STUDIOS. With a philosophical mind and a curious spirit Jennifer Marie finds the heart and soul of every couple, child, artist, singer or flower she shoots. That is the reason JMF Studios was born, in the hopes to make her clients not only happy with their shots, but most importantly touched by her work and intention of giving back a little piece of truth and authenticity through just one simple photo.
If you want a technical photographer, one who can talk to you in photography jargon and can impress you with their degrees and awards, then hire someone else. But if you want someone who has a true eye for what is authentic and real, a storyteller who can make a still picture soar off the pages and come to life, then Jennifer Marie Forchelli is your gal.
